Approved by the Commission of Health Care Certification (CHCC) as Meeting the Educational Requirements Necessary to Sit for the Medicare Set-Aside Consultant-Certified (MSCC) Exam
The Medicare Set-Aside Consultant Certified (MSCC) credential is designed to identify those professionals who work within the Workers’ Compensation or Liability insurance benefit system as either health care professionals, legal representatives, or as an insurance claims adjusters, who have achieved specific pre-approved training in Medicare Set-Aside Arrangements, and have demonstrated a breadth of knowledge regarding the development and application of the Medicare Set-Aside Arrangement process. Additionally, this credential is designed to express to the consumer that the person holding the MSCC credential has agreed to come under the scrutiny of a certifying review board (CHCC), to be peer reviewed, and to adhere to a set of standards governing ethics and professional behaviors.
MSA Training Program
The MSA training program is designed to provide the core essential knowledge components necessary for practice in the area of MSP Compliance. Participants will receive 2 CHCC approved credits for each completed module and 10 credits for the review course and practicum exam that may be used toward the educational requirements for MSCC certification or maintenance. Completion of all 10 modules, and the practicum exam will provide the 30 hours of training specific to MSP compliance required to meet the training requirement set forth by the CHCC to sit for MSCC certification. Practicum Exam
The practicum exam is intended to focus the participant on the areas of the curriculum that are felt to represent core knowledge for practice in the field of Medicare Set-Aside consulting. The participant will be given multiple choice questions and will be able to research the answers independently.
