Big news deserves big headlines, especially when it involves Medicare/Medicaid compliance. Thanks to the hard work of the Medicare Advocacy Recovery Coalition (MARC), the SMART Act passed both the U.S. House and Senate during the holidays and was signed into law by President Obama on Jan. 10. If this bipartisan achievement sounds like a miracle, consider that both the insurance industry and the American Association for Justice (AAJ) collaborated to pass the bill.
